Power, privilege, and prejudice sounds more like systematic racism. Racism is simply being prejudice against another race because of their skill color. I believe he is subscribing to Spike Lee's definition, and this would make Blacks impossible to be racist. I disagree.AlekӨдрийн өмнөWhy do you navigate America as a visitor when you have been here your entire lifeThankstank is back3 өдрийн өмнөReverse racism is racist in itself how do you people expect to eliminate racism if you’re going to make white people feel insecure about theirself? Although black Americans may or may not have the same experiences in this country regarding race, they definitely do not look at those experiences through the same lens. Try again.Me Me9 өдрийн өмнөI'm sorry Lynn hasn't learned her lesson in 70yrs! That doesn't come from being brainwashed 70yrs AGO or what was normal 70yrs ago, that comes from a hateful person not wanting to acknowledge their own hatred. If one chooses not to acknowledge, that is a personal decision Lynn made. But glad to hear were using a 70yr old as the example. So this is a new one! So were blaming marriage on the 1800's along with everything else. You wanna have a conversation about today then lets talk about today, not comparing it to a time NONE OF US LIVED IN. Stay on track bud. The problem were having in society is we wanna stereotype every white person or anybody who doesn't go along with the false narrative with this hatefulness. Until we quit placing false judgements on ANY people, HUMANS that's when we can look forward. Your first thought should not be of hatred, which is where most of this comes from! With all the money Mr. Acho makes, he doesn't navigate anywhere as a visitor he is well know all over. Has a lot of respect from all cultures, Mr. Acho are YOU to PRIVILEGE to remember that? Your little football story doesn't go to far from any other rookie that gets rookie hazing. Strength is not anger but action. 100% correct, that's why for the past 10 mths we seen kids murdered, ppl murdered, rioting, looting, hatred for your country and if you dont go along, violence or murder comes your way. That's called anger and hatred. When your willing to accept/cause that type of collateral damage never speak about it, hate & anger! This is what happens when the PRILIVEGE TRY to teach you about privilege = False implications! If you seek forgiveness and want to repent look no further then the SON & the FATHER. Through the son you will find all you need! White privilege does not exist in the KINGDON OF GODS house!sindel's cat10 өдрийн өмнөI honestly hate the term "reverse racism" because that just gives people the wrong idea on what racism actually is, racism by any race is how one race views themselves as inferior or Superior to another race, because in my personal opinion when you say the term "reverse racism" to me you're just saying that racism is a one-sided definition.Nick The Tick10 өдрийн өмнөWhat his email ?Miguel10 өдрийн өмнөI thought he was gonna talk about the “reverse” racism like the only white kid in our school got bullied for being white and having white “actions”.Thetequilashooter110 өдрийн өмнөReverse racism is very real, and unfortunately it’s legal in many cases. For instance, the cards are stacked against a young, white, male to be a firefighter. Before even taking your first exam, you get bonus points if you’re a minority, female, and a military veteran. The EOE laws also require certain percentages of the work population to be of minority races and gender, even if the white person is more qualified. I’ve also experienced reverse discrimination personally. When I was is New York, me and my friends went to a bar. We had no idea that it was primarily for blacks, and were discouraged at the door by the bouncers from entering, if we knew what was best for us. While I respect the rights that we should all have, I also get tired of the blame game that everything is my fault as a white male.Jim Smith11 өдрийн өмнөI got to give some push back on the fracture of the black family. The difference between marriage rates between blacks and whites were only marginal in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Black marriage rates didn't start to sharply decline until the 1960s. After slavery ended, blacks formed strong family values. These family values lasted for nearly a century before a sharp decline in the 1960s. Marriage has been on the decline for both blacks and whites since then, but significantly more for blacks. Being that family values among blacks were fairly strong after slavery had ended and didn't start to fracture until more recent history, I fail to see how slavery can be a contributing factor of the difference in statistics between black and white marriages.dsclan612 өдрийн өмнөthe only thing uncomfortable about this is the music in the background mixed with the way he talks makes me feel like this is a horror movieCadeGaming12 өдрийн өмнөTo speak about the point about braids and how it used to be mocked and now it’s praised for white people, I can relate to that as an asian. I was astounded by their racism. One of my bosses actually made a racist remark to a Middle Eastern man who was coming to us with his business. He said outloud that the guy owned a gas station. The man quickly replied, that he was an engineer. My Asian boss just made the assumption that because he was from India, he must be running a gas station. I was so embarressed to be in that room. I have learned some cites and states have a lot more work to do than others. My question to you is "At what point can the history be put behind us (black and whites) and move forward? At some point the history has to be let go so it no longer hurts or hinders the progress. For example: I have no issues visiting a black friend or to invite one over but I wouldn't want that black friend sitting there thinking if this was back in year whatever I could be killed. He is a black man that you in particular should get to know.Palak Paneer15 өдрийн өмнөSir, as an American who understands what it means to be an American I respectfully take exception to your approach to the entire issue of race. For starters your telling white people that it is okay for them to have braided hair as long as they "know the history and cite their sources" is absolutely ridiculous. this is especially true when you obviously have gotten your hands on some inaccurate or revisionist history about black marriage and the black family. The true history will show you that black people were in fact more married than white people in America up to the early 1960's. There is so much in your kindly delivered message that is fatally flawed and does not stand up to empirical examination. The black man and woman have indeed and regrettably been treated poorly from the time they reached this land as slaves right up to and through the Jim Crow era and in some instances today. However you must see and accept that it is not the regret of people born with white skin and raised in two parent household in whatever socioeconomic class they are in, to bear. The only regret that present day Americans with white skin have to bear is that they were not alive during the days of slavery so they could have eradicated it sooner along with the democrat political party that has bought off potentially great black leaders and turned them into cowboys that have herded black people into control groups and bombard them with messaging that their true enemies are white people to put it mildly. What you are not considering in your divisive conversations is the divinity of the individual. We as Americans should ignore any and all efforts to divide us into groups of any sort. Individual liberty and not group identity are what makes this nation work for all and any country that recognizes that realizes success in its people. Not perfection. Success. Perfection is elusive and always will be due to the nature of man; you can give us everything, utopia and we will find a way to destroy it simply out of boredom. You have peoples attention. Use it wisely and don't be afraid to go against the grain of the white liberal puppet masters. Think Malcom X. He saw this and what happened to him? he was permanently muzzled. Be brave young man or at least consider that you are truly doing damage that will eventually have to be undone and as history will tell us, even you won't be able to hide from the monsters you are creating. Hit me up. You may be surprised at what you could learn from an honest conversation and not just an "uncomfortable" one.Bob Fowler15 өдрийн өмнөI agree to an extent, with your 'claims'. I do take exception with not hearing even a shred of you being responsible for your own lot in life. Are there racists? Absolutely. There are also people who don't like me because I have long hair. They treat me with the same dislike as racists treat blacks. They don't hire me, don't want me in their businesses. look at me as less than an equal. Sure, I could cut my hair and be welcomed back, unlike a black person who can't wash away their skin color. It is my choice whether or not to assimilate. Celebrating felons, encouraging Marxism, ignoring black on black crime, looking to blame others is acceptable if you are black. I don't have that right. We just concluded a national election where ignorance won. What level of fool must you be to vote for the man who authored the most damaging piece of legislation to blacks in decades. Who is to blame for that? Whites? If blacks were concerned with helping blacks, wouldn't BLM have opened a bank to lend to blacks looking to start their own businesses? Wouldn't LeBron invest in black community businesses, to give blacks a way out of poverty? Wouldn't ANY black leader organize protests in black communities to end black on black crime? Nothing comes before personal responsibility. But let me just talk about one due to my lack of time. The gentleman explains the cause of single parent households in a certain community were due to slavery but data appears to refute this gentlemans claim. In 1960 two thirds of all children in said community was living with their parents. Over the years that percentage declined to approximately 77% being born to single parents by 2018. Certainly in 1960 peoples ideas were not as 'progressive' as in 2018. So what happened? The year 1960 is a lot closer in time to slavery than the year 2018. Maybe your theories are incorrect.Haris Radoncic16 өдрийн өмнөbraids aint really cultural appropriation since its been a thing in all parts of the world and first in anciet greece but i guess it understandable to think that since most of the white ppl that wear braids do approprate black culture in other waysNomWitDaHoodie16 өдрийн өмнөphilly phillyMilagros Waid16 өдрийн өмнөReverse racism, I thought, might be about communal white guilt & how to make amends. How to recognize biases that amount to overcompensating. For many reasons, partly personality, I side with the oppressed & vulnerable. I prefer Black music, literature, & poetry-not exclusively (maybe music), but enough so that it can be embarrassing. We inherit our predecessors’ past-no escaping that. Not that I’m personally responsible for slavery (my family sometimes acts as if my attitudes are *that* skewed)! But I was born into a nation so rife with its enduring malignancy that of course I benefited. Communal guilt doesn’t mean I’m evil. It means when possible, in any small gesture, I should make amends-& risk rejection! Because my puny attempts to make amends are presumptuous.... Yet it’s only natural for me to imagine what another thinks and feels. Of course, I get it wrong half the time, but sometimes I’m almost right. No one mistakes me for someone with power. Rarely do I feel that anyone even knows what I’m trying to say, but that’s never kept me from *trying* to find the right words & actions that might help...🤷🏼♀️Thankstank is back3 өдрийн өмнөReverse racism is bullshit, Racism exists everywhere and can affect everyone We need to start admitting white people too can face racism. And their simple response was, "because you're white"..so, it is there....not everyone is standing up for the right reasons...some black people have a real hate for white people...I mean even after George Floyd was murdered there were groups of black people literally just attacking a white man carrying his groceries...I guess he was caught walking white? And I get the anger...I just dont think it's going to breed change if the anger isnt fueled towards awareness and change.Thankstank is back3 өдрийн өмнөYou can face racism, Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise what you faced was RACISMsabrina Hamrick16 өдрийн өмнөThe only point I dont fully agree with is the last one...I as a white person completely understand and agree 1,000,000 percent a black person should stand up... but what I dont agree with is mocking and literally making fun of white culture...the way we talk, dress, act....I feel we are often made fun of kind of like black face...in a over the top way that really isnt accurate or funny...and I feel like that kind of standing up is bullying rather than standing up...and it doesnt help build a bridge...every time I see or hear a black person on the TV imitate a white person I literally think to myself, "I hope my sons didnt just hear that". Because I feel like they would think, "What's wrong with me"? I wish the focus could fully get on unconditional love and acceptance. What kind of straw man is that? I’m saying the concept of “reverse racism” is stupid. Affirmative action isn’t “reverse racism” it’s a bad attempt to solve racism which results in racist outcomes. So if you want to you could call it racist. But this idea that it’s “reverse” is to say you cannot be racist towards white people. The way to begin fixing the stain racism has left in our country along with the systematic racism that still effects black people, is to put money towards giving them better education, healthcare, and the same opportunities as white people.hawaiisunfun11 цагийн өмнө@Pogolaugh you don't believe in retaliation? But that's still having a 'boss' - it's just customers that are the boss. A boss doesn't even have to be living - it could just be an atmosphere or environment. The jobs that I'm referring to are the ones where you're your own boss - you decide which jobs to take - where they hire/fire based on need and can't discriminate. Minimum wage jobs come to mind. Ones where people can't take away skill - like saving money or finding it on the ground. Any job where no one can take what you're working on except you are the ones where manipulation doesn't matter - as it doesn't impact survival. Consulting, being an investor, tenure, etc. are some others that come to mind - being your own boss, deciding your own culture and when to leave. Until people rely on themselves, instead of others, for their own survival - including financially, cancel culture will be eminent.Eric Young13 өдрийн өмнө@hawaiisunfun Except your customers. Reverse racism is not being a reverse bully. It’s simply being a racist. If you were to make racist comments back to someone being racist to you then the analogy would fit but that’s not what we see. We have to remove this concept that racism is a 3 part deal that only Whites can possess in the United States. If you are a racist then you are a racist regardless of skin color or ethnicity. The other option is that we stop using the term “racist” to describe racially motivated actions and simply call it prejudice. As a lower middle class White man I have no inherent power over a Black man. With a lack of power I cannot be racist, correct? Therefore if I act in a racially motived way it’s simply prejudice according to the like of logic used. I prefer calling racist actions racist but I can play your game too and it’s not pretty.dee g19 өдрийн өмнөNow if all white people took time to listen to what he was saying then maybe we could start seeing some serious change.dee gӨдрийн өмнөThankstank is back No one said anything about hating on white people lol if you experienced half of the shit that black people experience on a daily basis then you would understand and wouldn’t have this idiotic mind set. REALLY NOW? A quick examination of the HISTORY of BFS in this country, should be MORE than enough PROOF to BFS that no matter WHAT they do, they'll NEVER be accepted and should've STOPPED trippin' on that shit LONG AGO! El Hajj Malik Shabazz once professed that BFS are the hardest to deal with, a broad brush to paint with, especially when it comes to lessons and let's explore some of those for a moment: BFS were told to model many things and they'd be treated BETTER, like higher education, improved speech and appearance, to increase their standard of living and embrace "American" principles, yet after doing ALL those, including PROUDLY serving in every war this country has ever had, ALL those efforts have been undermined and have FAILED because they CONTINUE catching HELL, NOT for being "unamerican", BUT because they're BLACK and now, some BFS have had ENOUGH of it ALL and have decided they'd let it be KNOWN they're SICK of it, they call themselves NFAC, NO such name OR time than NOW could be MORE fitting for such an ORGANIZATION because it looks like ALL else has FAILED! ☝️🥺Brennan Young19 өдрийн өмнөThe sentiment behind this video is positive; however, there are some historical inaccuracies here. Slavery was not the single catalyst that influenced single parent homes in the black community. In fact, it wasn't even a significant factor. In the 1920s and 30s two parent families in black homes was a commonality. Even more so than in white families. It is pretty evident that the true catalyst to single black homes was the liberal welfare state incentivizing single parent households. Thomas Sowell's work outlines this point clearly.Gary Roussel19 өдрийн өмнөI like the concept of what you do and some of your conversations are good and informative. The problems is that I don't think you fully understand history. A big chunk of "white people" came here after "black people" and most were treated pretty bad as well. Not all slaves were black and not all slaves owners were white. I also don't agree with assumptions of all people of a race think or act the same way. In most cases the majority may but a majority doesn't always mean right or correct. Keep doing what you're doing because the concept works and is needed, but make sure you are part of the solution and not adding to the problem.Peter Mogensen19 өдрийн өмнөI think you lost me with the explanation of "cultural appropriation". This is excruciatingly emphasized in America. The widespread use of "Enlightenment" values certainly lead to a handful of "Western" societies but they are certainly not a homogenous culture. It's rude to suggest otherwise. I'm white, but Arabic. My people were raped and murdered out of existence in world war 1. Jesus would have called us ancient and in our language, but today ISIS and Turkey both gleefully erase what is left of us. Nobody will hear this though (rodiusmaximus18 өдрийн өмнөIt's interesting too that the racism narrative usually includes hispanics, Japanese, Chinese and Koreans. To these people if your skin is fair, you are 'white'. There's also a tendency to group Jamaicans and other West Indians along with other dark skinned Americans. African immigrants aren't included though. And on a side note, Americans tend to forget that other countries exist. Racism isn't just black vs white, it's Chinese vs Tibetan, Indian vs Pakistani, Chinese vs Malay. And the whole 'racism is power' bullshit. Its easy to know the things that are wrong and to blame history for the present. Its far harder to harness the present in ways that truly help to create a better future. How do we jump the hurdles rising up in front of us to change the future for the better when we are consistently focused on looking over our shoulders into a past that can never be changed?Thankstank is back2 өдрийн өмнө@Dyrty Barstud preach brother 🙏🏾Dyrty Barstud3 өдрийн өмнө@Thankstank is back The simplest path forward is to evaluate people as MLK suggested. On content of character alone. White guilt and black blame only serve to continue the cycle of devaluation and externalisation that allow us to demonise one another. We CAN have a future where all people have the same opportunities but that future only begins when we make the choice to move forward TOGETHER unified by a real, shared vision of what that future might be. Instead of focusing on the past we need to focus in the now, and support each other in the task of creating real opportunities for those that need them AND building the courage to pursue those opportunities in those that have lost faith that they exist.Thankstank is back3 өдрийн өмнөWe must Condemn the wrong deeds of the past and Unify, To use the past to justify Hatred amongst a race is not ok Racism will never decrease if We don’t admit white people can face racismErin Tolva21 өдрийн өмнөThank you thank you 💜KatherineLeda21 өдрийн өмнөThank you!KatherineLeda21 өдрийн өмнөThank you!Kimberly Ford21 өдрийн өмнөAs a stepmom to mixed children I thank you for this, I will be sharing it on all my social media platforms. There are most definitely black racists, as well as white racists as well as asian, latino, indian, etc... any person can have racist tendencies. No race is all good or all bad. 2. Cultural appropriation is very disheartening to me. The whole concept of it. I have multiple cultures in my family and to tell me based on how I look I am not allowed to use, show, display or experience pieces of certain cultures without someone making a judgement about my use of those aspects is just ridiculous. I should not need to justify to someone else how I live or explore or experience my life. It is not up to you to decide if I am 'worthy' of doing something or experiencing something. I would never tell someone else how to live their life and no one should be telling me that as well.Thankstank is back3 өдрийн өмнөI agree dudeJust Me21 өдрийн өмнөI often wonder how people feel about Morgan Freeman’s response to racism. I use quotes there because, it's actually just racism. When I think of racism by black people, I'm not thinking of Black History Month, or BET, or anything that as you put it, helps black people band together or celebrates black culture. (Although, I think helping black people band together, at the exclusion of everyone else, is pretty racist, but I digress.) I'm talking about prejudice by black people against white people in day to day life. This applies to all races, but I'll stick to blacks and whites for simplicity here. Today it's perfectly acceptable (in many people's eyes anyway) for black people to be prejudiced against white people. They can openly mock, use racial slurs, and exclude whites, usually without repercussions. Or at least without anywhere near the kind of repercussions that racist whites face. I understand that this is a reversal of history, but that doesn't make it right, and it actively hurts the cause of bringing us together. So why isn't it addressed? If you get a white racist to try to change, it will not last long if they are met with hate coming back at them.Kayla B21 өдрийн өмнөI applaud you for being able to answer these questions with a straight face 😂😂Spencer Glubay21 өдрийн өмнөI don't understand the term 'reverse racism'. The way it seems to be used implies that racism is only white prejudice, cognitive bias, predispositions against black people. But I put forth that racism doesn't pick a race, because at that point racism is racist. Rather racism is any point in which one race thinks negatively, acts negative, or tries to inhibit another race. We have seen a lot of racism against black people in America ever since it was created, but racism against all races exists. People really lose me when they say 'black people, or any minority group, can't be racist'. That statement disregards social psychology. According to social psychology, we all have our predispositions, thoughts, stereotypes, and so forth about other people. Some are negative and some are positive. But if you read social psychology it is really hard for our mind to break free from this as doing this reduces how much work and brain has to do in understand and analyzing everything it takes in. I know racism is a problem, and I want to stand up against it, both within myself and against others; however, it will be impossible to clear racism 100% from America and the world because people are people. We are all different and you can't control everyone. I feel like we have, in the current climate of trying to create equality and inclusion, lost sight of what tolerance and love really means. We need to tolerate and love everyone. It is like they say kill them with kindness. I watched this ted talk where this black gentleman was talking about how just by become a KKK leader's friend and getting to know him resulted in the KKK leader stepping down and distancing himself from the group. When we do not love, push hatred, and say mean things about the enemy, you only further push them into their views and ideas, because no one wants to be apart of a group that says mean things about them. We NEEd to learn to take every person as they are, get to know them, show love, be tolerant, and change the world from the inside out. It is a long journey ahead, but it a whole lot better than the one we are heading down now.
